Wiltshire Walks is happy to announce that we have become an Affiliate Company to Mapyx who produce ‘Quo2’ Mapping Software (PC & Mobile). Having tried other Mapping and Route Planning software, we consider that Quo2 has an intuitive interface which is great for beginners, but holds a wealth of special features ‘under the bonnet’ for those who want to be more creative with their Route Planning. We thoroughly recommend Quo2 to anyone who wishes to plan their own walks, and for use in Geocaching, Biodiversity Fieldwork, or Archaeological Studies.

In particular, Quo2 Mobile will interface to most all Handheld GPS devices, and can read/write most of the various GPS data files that these devices use. Quo2 PC will also ‘output’ Maps, Waypoints and Routes to many of the handheld PDA devices, and we especially recommend using Quo2 Mobile on the HP range of iPAQs that have the full true-colour VGA Screen at 640 x 480 pixels. Quo2 is free to download and is not time limited in use. It comes with a free XYZ Road Map of the British Isles, which gives a basic background on which to navigate to those areas of the country that interest you. Then simply download either 1:25,000 or 1:50,000 OS Maps (Explorer or Landranger), or 1:50,000 OSNi Maps of Northern Ireland. A Voucher for 25 Map Tiles may be purchased which allows you to download single Map ‘Tiles’ at any time.
